FISHER CELEBRITY  January 2011

Another year has passed and the Celebrity is still not in the air, however, its been a good year and much has been accomplished on our airplane.

The milestone was the completion of the engine and the first run of our
reverse rotation 3100 on November 15th.   
The engine does not have a primer so after a few pumps of the throttle I turned ignition on and started to crank.  I expected it would need more priming with the throttle, but to my surprise, it fired right up. It happened so fast it really startled me! 
The engine runs great and now has 1.2 hours run in on it.
 
Of course, the engine run was also important because it meant that everything on the fuselage was finished except for installing the tail surfaces. These were installed the following week and the tail wires
(another one of our modifications) were added to finish it up.
 
So what's left ?   Well, its down to three finish coats of silver on the wings and painting the four ailerons, That's It !
Of course, the wings will have to be installed again, but that will be after the trip to our new hangar. 
 
The hanger has been another project which has taken time this year also,but we needed to finish it to have a place for the airplane.

 Were glad they are both almost finished!
